ABOUT BELLA + CANVAS
AIRLUME COMBED & RING-SPUN COTTON. NO C.O.E.
We have been preaching the combed and ring spun message since day one, back when all the other guys were using carded open end. We have been true to our core belief that quality garments start at the thread level, which is exactly where we start our design process. Our signature Airlume Combed and Ring-Spun Cotton is engineered to create the softest, smoothest tee you’ve ever felt.
THE AIRLUME DIFFERENCE?
- Clean Cotton: We comb out 2.5x more impurities than standard ring spun cotton
- Long Staple Cotton: This makes for less stray fibers and a tight-knit print surface
- Eco-Dyed: Our fabric is dyed using 7x less water and eco-friendly dyes
STOP TUBULAR PRODUCTION
Our bodies aren't tubes, so why does tubular manufacturing still exist? Constructing garments this way is cheaper, but tubular T-Shirts are ill-fitting and unflattering. Side-Seamed tees are the only tees we make tees because to us, fit is everything.
By using newer, more efficient dye machines, we use 7x less water than the average for clothing manufacturers, saving 24 million gallons a week. Any water we do use goes through a filtration system that allows it to be recycled.
We are a green company through and through - taking every opportunity we can to reduce our co2 emissions. If you take a quick tour around our headquarters you'll find we use solar energy to power our sewing and cutting facilities, motion-sensor LED lighting and skylights throughout each building, and electric car charging stations to encourage employees to go green.
VIRTUALLY ZERO WASTE
Our manufacturing facilities and LA Headquarters produce almost no landfill because we recycle pretty much everything that can't be turned into a tee. We've optimized our cutting to reduce plastic use, and excess fabric is recycled into a number of things like baby bibs or stuffing for upholstery. Let nothing go to waste!
LARGEST DYER & CUTTER OF APPAREL IN THE US
We dye and cut more garments in the United States than any other clothing manufacturer. And it's all done right here in Los Angeles!
CREATING AMERICAN JOBS
American made is something we believe in deeply. As one of the biggest clothing manufacturers in America, we provide well over 1,000 jobs right here in Los Angeles. We are always pushing the envelope to add more volume and just recently doubled the size of both our cutting and fulfillment facilities, adding even more jobs!
NO SWEATSHOPS/WRAP CERTIFICATION
Doing things the right way has never been up for debate. We have been manufacturing in the U.S. and internationally in a no-sweat-shop, humane, sustainable way since day one. Our W.R.A.P. certification is just a small indication of how hard we work to make our sewing and cutting floors pleasant, productive, comfortable places to be.
What Principles Does the WRAP Certification Include?
- Human resources management
- Health and safety standards
- Environmental and eco-friendly practices
- Legal compliance including import/export, customs compliance and security standards

We ship our merchandise with the Better Packaging Co.'s comPOST packs!
" I behave just like a plastic satchel except when left in nature! In a home compost I will biodegrade in 3-6 months. Labels will stick to me no problem, and I’m waterproof and strong. Better. Right.
I’m made from plants, corn to be exact, with a man-made binding agent added for flexibility.
And the best bit … I can be composted at home! Yip, when you’ve finished using me, just put me in with your food scraps and garden waste, and before you know it, worms will be eating me for breakfast.
Better for the environment, better for our oceans, a better tomorrow."
